Company Summary: ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 500 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

  • Actively works to move the child from their current status to meet the best possible outcome in the shortest possible time, fulfilling established federal and state mandates by:
  • Manage a caseload of no more than 15 families at any given time - families referred for Family-CPR program services - respond to referrals within required time frame.
  • Developing and implementing behavior programs, data collection and other related services.
  • Collecting data as specified in the contract and provide these data for all required reports.
  • Participating in local review committee meetings at which meeting with the Family Peer Recovery child (ren) and family in their home within 48 hours.
  • Meet with each assigned family at least 3 times per week in their homes, ChildNet offices, or other mutually agreed upon, appropriate community setting for 4 months
  • Provide services based on the Engaging Parents Program (EPP) evidence-based model
  • Build a therapeutic alliance with the parents and families towards enhancing their motivation to participate in recommended treatment and support services
  • Work in close collaboration with the South Florida Wellness Network Continuing Care Parent Advocate - to include a joint meeting with the family at least once per week during the 4-monthservice period to facilitate coordinated and integrated services
  • Conduct assessments as directed to determine family treatment and resource needs. The assessment process includes the gathering of information regarding the household, social history of family, prior abuse reports, specific circumstances surrounding the alleged maltreatment, background checks and required procedures and documentation for the home study and any indicated referrals.
  • Develop an individualized, family-centered & child-focused case plan for each case that specifies needed services, supports, and resources to facilitate child & family well-being
  • Conduct required assessments to determine indicated alerts
  • Link the children and parents to indicated services, supports, and resources
  • Monitor families’ compliance with recommended treatment / services and work with the families and project partnering agencies to address and resolve barriers / challenges.
  • Attend required supervision sessions, at least weekly, with Supervisor and complete associated assignments and activities towards enhancing skills to best work with assigned families
  • Attend all required Family-CPR training and meetings
  • Maintain case files and associated documentation as required and as per training, including case plan, documentation of family visits, timely filing of court reports
  • Gathering information about the family, including the make-up of the household, the social history of the family, any previous abuse reports, the educational, medical and behavioral health history of the Family-CPR child (ren), and the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged maltreatment.
  • Photographing the Family-CPR child (ren) and arranges for fingerprinting of the Family-CPR child (ren) for the parents as needed.
  • Conducting face to face home visits with the Family-CPR parents, even when child (ren) is not placed in the same home.
  • Promotes family involvement in all aspects of services to include case reviews and staffings.
  • Evaluating, preparing reports, making recommendations and decisions on the Family-CPR child(ren) and families, i.e. family strengths, needs assessment, safety plan, judicial reviews, post disposition reports, status reports, home studies, and risk assessment reports.
  • Attending all court hearings and makes recommendations to the judge on the Family-CPR child (ren) s behalf, unless age or circumstances supersedes this requirement.
  • Coordinating monthly (some cases every 25 days) face-to-face visits with the Family-CPR child (ren) and family in the home.
  • Observes reports and makes recommendations based on their observations.
  • Provides Family-CPR child (ren) with opportunities to visit parents, siblings, relatives, and others with court ordered visitation.
  • Recognizing, respecting and responding to the unique, culturally-defined needs of others served.

Skills / Requirements

* An Bachelor's degree in social services, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy or related behavioral health or a related field (Masters degree and/or Florida licensed preferred).

* Minimum of two (2) years relevant professional experience working with families with child welfare system involvement where children are at risk due to parent/caregiver substance abuse. Prior experience conducting home visits preferred

* Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office 365 Suite and strong data entry skills

* Must possess a valid and clean Florida drivers license without any restrictions and/or citations that would affect job performance.

* Must have own reliable transportation and the ability to obtain and show proof of insurance.

* Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends in order to meet with children and families.

* Able and willing to work with a diverse client population.
